TPFC Mission Statement:

The vision of the Texas Panhandle Film Commission is to make the panhandle of Texas a household word in the vocabulary of the world's film industry. Our two-part strategy in accomplishing that vision is to aggressively attract and facilitate outside and locally originated film, video and television productions in the Texas Panhandle and, through education and representation, help local talent realize their goals in film making.

Benefits of supporting TPFC:

Texas Panhandle Film Commission's short-term goal is to first attract outside production companies to millions of acres of diverse shooting locations in this area. The long-term goal of TPFC is to create new jobs by developing a profitable film industry in the Texas panhandle, an industry virtually ignored in the past. Your support of TPFC will help us accomplish these goals. TPFC is networked with organizations such as the Texas Association of Film/Tape Professionals, a powerful group that is aggressively helping to increase the viability of the film and tape industry in the state. The Texas Panhandle Film Commission is educated, connected, and committed to fulfilling our mission.

Economic Impact:

Texas' film and tape industry is highly respected worldwide by film professionals and is increasing its status and market share each year. On average, the Texas film and video production industry generates $300 million in annual revenue. Recent feature films produced in Texas include Spy Kids 1 and 2, Jimmy Neutron, and currently in production is The Alamo, produced by Ron Howard. Film and video production is profitable with long-lasting economic impacts. Many towns, big and small, report large increases in tourism after a television show or film finishes production in their community.
